A Photorealistic Look Alike Challenge.

Personal Piece

This piece was created after my wife handed me a piece of her decor and said, "Can you make this in 3D?" So I did! I started by referencing the real object, but instead of going into the usual process of taking pictures and measurements, I decided to see if I could remake it entirely by eye while looking at the real object along the way. I created a base mesh using real world measurements that I guesstimated and then began sculpting out the details. I then took it into Substance Painter to paint the textures and fine detail, added a floor texture to a simple plane, some surface imperfections and voila! You can see the comparison between the real object and the digital asset in the last image below.
