Water my battery face shield
Comfortable face protection.
Water my battery
This face shield had some deceivingly complex geometry to work with. The only CAD file for this model was the blue visor which needed to be completely retopoed due to the unique textures that had to be applied to it. The rubber strap and the plastic face shield came in DXF formats, meaning that they were just flat outlines. I was able to easily model the strap off of the DXF and apply a curve to get it to attach properly. The face shield was initially done with a bend and taper modifier, then applied with a curve, but issues began to present themselves when light reflected off of it. So, I had to go with a good old fashioned lattice to get all of the geometry to contour just right. Then textures were painted based off of photo references of the actual product. The model was optimized and uploaded to Sketchfab with an animation to create an exploded view of the face shield. Check out the Face Shield on Water My Battery's website HERE.
